1) I really think my sculpture looks very neat. I worked very hard making each shape look good and colored correctly. I spent a lot of time on the coloring layering each part and adding texture.
2) The most difficult part for me was expressing the colors I had seen in my reference photos and putting them on my clay so they would look real.
3) I think the color was very difficult to get right the clay looked perfect it was just the colors were very difficult. I do think they work together still I just wish I could have found the right color and texture I was looking for.
4) I think the sculpture follows how a lobster would look all sides look as a real one would. Now the bottom was left unpainted because I didn't want the paint sticking to the shelf. I do think one day I might paint the bottom but besides the bottom that would be the one visually unpleasant part.
5) Something 3D is very difficult to make all parts look good. With 2D things you can see everything at once and you can easily fix or change something not to mention clay is very difficult to mold to exactly how you want it.
6) I created texture by dabbing the spounge on the wet clay. This made this rough textured clay that looks very real. The next thing I did was add many layers of color and wash them away with water and my fingers to make a very good looking paint job.
7) The sculpture looks very much like the real food I just thinks lobsters have a wide range of colors and so one may be a lot more red than another. I think from the reference photos I have it looks very real. I did this by layering the paint many times and working very hard to get the clays edges to be clean and look real.
8) If I was to do this project again I would most likely make a bigger lobster and spend even more time working on the paint. I just feel the paint looks good but could be better that would be the worst part for me.
